I remember seeing The Scars a few times back in 78/79 and their first single “Horrorshow”/”Adult/ery” blew me away and remains a favourite of mine ever since. Recently caught up again with guitarist Paul Research and was intrigued to see how the reformed band would work out with original players and Tam Dean Burn on vocals.

This came immediately after watching Scotland football team’s amazing win in Norway from the Roseburn bar, so I was very much the worse for wear, but managed along to catch the start of their set. Paul and the band sounded just great but Tam is an aquired taste I just haven’t aquired. I retired home after half a dozen songs, glad to have seen them but glad not to stay out any longer!
