I’m very proud of Magiscroft, Scotland’s first and only major commercial fishery dedicated to coarse fishing. When Ronnie MacLeod and I fished all around Europe, we bemoaned the dire lack of coarse fishing in Scotland. So in the late 90s we decided to do something about it. After lots of blood sweat and tears (mainly Ronnie’s) and near bankruptcy, we built and opened Magiscroft in August 2002.
All these years later we are still nearly bankrupt but the place has matured from a desolate quarry into a beautiful place to visit and fish, a great asset to Scotland. There is also a really friendly, respectful atmosphere and it’s just a fun place to be around!
